Operations and training 

Here at Somonauk Fire Department we have an array of talented and highly trained individuals.  Training is regularly every Tuesday night at 6:30 P.M.  (except for the first Tuesday of the month, which is our association meeting).  In addition to that our members take classes in a variety of specialties to be better equip for any potential emergency.  The realm of firefighting is ever changing, so as servants to the community, it is our duty to be prepared. 

Specialties include but are not limited to the following:

• Fire suppression
• Emergency medical response
• Vehicle extrication
• Water Rescue 
• Search and Rescue
• Technical Rescue
• HazMat
